Transforming Logistics and Supply Chain Management in India: Embracing Digital Innovation, Enabling Sustainability, and Empowering Women for a Resilient Future”
In the rapidly evolving global economy, logistics and supply chain management (LSCM) play a pivotal role in driving national growth, competitiveness, and sustainability. India, poised to become a global logistics hub, is undergoing a strategic transformation fueled by policy reforms, digital innovation, and the need for environmental responsibility. The National Logistics Policy (2022) and PM Gati Shakti are monumental steps in integrating infrastructure and digital technology to streamline India’s complex logistics ecosystem.
At the same time, global disruptions such as pandemics, climate change, and geopolitical tensions have revealed vulnerabilities in supply chains, necessitating resilience, agility, and sustainability as core priorities. The role of digital transformation — through Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), Blockchain, and automation — has become indispensable in building smarter and more responsive supply networks.
While these technological and structural advancements are shaping the future of LSCM, another essential dimension remains underexplored — the empowerment of women in logistics. Traditionally male-dominated, the sector is now witnessing a slow yet impactful entry of women professionals, entrepreneurs, and leaders. Promoting gender diversity not only fulfills the goals of inclusive development but also strengthens organizational performance and innovation in logistics operations.
This seminar aims to provide a comprehensive platform for knowledge exchange, focusing on the convergence of digital innovation, sustainability practices, and gender inclusion in logistics and supply chain management. It seeks to equip students, academicians, and budding entrepreneurs — especially women — with the awareness, skills, and industry insights necessary to thrive in the modern logistics ecosystem
